butter LONDON Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection

Today, I have 2 polishes from the butter LONDON Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection up for review today, Trustafarian and Lovely Jubbly. The collection is described as follows "Rich texture was heavily featured on the catwalks this season – Sequins! Velvet! Satin! Tweed!  We’ve translated this look for nails through the infusion of glitter particles, metallic finishes, and holographic glitter.  Colour tones speak to “earthiness” but are not specifically earth tones – think rust instead of earth, holographic greens and silvers instead of plant elements.  Colours feel future-forward but not futuristic.  This season is about using texture to add interest and depth to your look.  We hope you will enjoy wearing our Autumn/Winter 2012 Nail Lacquer Collection as much as we enjoyed making it."

There are 5 polishes part of the Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection.
  • Lovely Jubbly
  • Trustafarian
  • Gobsmacked
  • Shag
  • Dodgy Barnett

Trustafarian is described as "A golden holographic finish gives this delightful sage green nail lacquer a surprising and sophisticated edge." Trustafarian is a gorgeous light green/golden holographic polish. It is packed with holographic pigment. The holographic effect is greater than the picture shows, as with most holographic polishes. I used 4 coats to get full opacity, the formula was smooth, but a bit thin. I enjoyed layering 2 coats of Trustafarian over another polish, to give a golden/green holographic effect.

Lovely Jubbly is described as "A vibrant magenta nail lacquer flecked with red, blue and gold micro-particles. This sultry glitter channels a distinctly retro, 70’s feel. High impact sparkle for Disco Divas." Lovely Jubbly is a gorgeous purple/pink glitter with a mixture of red, blue and gold small glitter (as the description says.)  I used 3 coats for full opacity, the formula was smooth and pretty opaque for a glitter. I loved the color combos and would love to see what it looks like layered over other polishes.

The butter LONDON Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection is stunning, the wide range of colors is gorgeous, I am happy that butter LONDON introduced holographic polishes into their line, I definitely have a love of the holographic effect and the glitter mix in Lovely Jubbly is amazing as well.  butter LONDON has always had one of my favorite formulas, and even though these polishes were not 1 or 2 coats the formula was still smooth and great, and I plan on using them a lot in the future.
